The Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Girona hosted last November 7 in the evening the awarding ceremony of the fifth edition of the Girona Apartments and Holiday Villas Awards organized by the Tourist Association of Apartments Costa Brava - Girona Pyrenees (ATA).

A jury of experts made up of representatives of the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Girona has selected the best accommodations in twelve categories with the aim of showing the diversity and excellence of the sector and of highlighting and recognizing the professionalism and quality of the administrators and the accommodations that grow a model of quality tourism in the Girona Regions.

Can Nano, managed by Helena Jornet Finques won for Best Tourist Accommodation Homestaging for its comprehensive reform. Three more accommodations managed by Helena Jornet Finques achieved second place in three categories: Cal Gruixut in the category of Best Tourist Accommodation in Architecture and Rustic Design; Mas Pla II in the category of Best Sustainable Tourist Accommodation; and Golf Santa Cristina d'Aro II in the category of Best Sports Tourist Accommodation.

The event was conducted by the journalist Elisabet Carnicé and included a very inspiring presentation by the former professional basketball player, president of the Special Olympics Catalonia, and specialist in motivation and change management, Sergi Grimau. And with the presence and speeches of the deputy of the Diputació de Girona and first vice-president of the Costa Brava Tourism Board Girona, Jordi Masquef; the vice-mayor of Girona and 1st deputy mayor and councilor for Economic Promotion, Gemma Geis; the director of Territorial Business and Employment Services, Joan Martí; the dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Joaquim Majó; and the president of the Tourist Association of Costa Brava Apartments - Pyrenees of Girona, Esther Torrent.
