Helena Jornet Finques sponsorise la 50ème édition des Guíxols Medes

Once again, Helena Jornet Finques is the official sponsor of the Sant Feliu de Guíxols Yatch Club and the regattas organized by the club.

This weekend saw the 50th edition of the Guíxols Medes, the oldest regatta in Catalonia organized continuously by the Club Nàutic Sant Feliu de Guíxols, intended for the ORC Cruiser class, which can be scored for the Catalan Singles, A2 and Altitude Championships (Crew) and which covers 75 nautical miles between Sant Feliu de Guíxols, the Odas buoy and the Medes Islands.

The 50th anniversary edition of the regatta has been more than a sporting event and has also acquired an important social character. For this reason, an appeal was made to the population of Sant Feliu de Guíxols to go to the tip of the pier to see off the participating boats at the start of the regatta.

A popular lunch was also held with all the participants and their crews, the presentation of a plaque to Joaquim Pla Bartina as the promoter of the regatta half a century ago and a tribute to those who made it great and a raffle of many nautical gifts. All activities have been done outdoors and respecting all safety measures to prevent covid-19 contagion.

According to the president of the Sant Feliu de Guíxols Nautical Club, Albert Rosés, "this fiftieth edition of the regatta has been a great tribute to the extraordinary effort that the Nautical Club has been making since ancient times to promote the sport of sailing in Sant Feliu from Guíxols. We are very grateful to all the participants who made the year possible for fifty years, as well as to our sponsors and collaborators".
